'matahari' photobook

"I find myself drawn repeatedly to the same ordinary things: flowers, birds, objects dropped and forgotten, plants growing, water. They represent the feelings and questions that preoccupy my thoughts. A flower, for example, can be an expression of beauty, resilience, the cycles of nature, the way humans cultivate loveliness and the ways we disrupt and cause harm. In Indonesia, we call the sun 'matahari'. It gives life, it marks the passage of time and illuminates. These images are a meditation on everyday life; an invitation to linger in the in-between moments."
